The Kahlenberg M-485A Whistle Control is offers a simple twin rocker button format that can generate the following sound signals, for sailing yachts and powered vessels in restricted visibility, as per the IMO's International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (1972):

  • Vessel underway (Rule 35a)
  • Vessel underway but stopped (Rule 35b)
  • Vessel restricted in ability to manoeuvre (Rule 35c)

The Kahlenberg M-485A Whistle Control is suitable both for motor yachts, sailing yachts and commercial vessels. The left-hand rocker switch selects which type of vessel is required and the right-hand rocker is used to select whether you are underway or stopped. By using this control you can ensure you are operating your vessel legally in conditions of restricted visibility and free your time to maintain a full visual watch.

Kahlenberg M-485 Whistle Control rear panelThe Kahlenberg M-485A Whistle Control is available in 12V and 24V versions. It can drive loads of up to 20A directly or can activate a solenoid or air valve.

It is waterproof and designed for easy mounting in a console, with spade terminals at the rear for ease of wiring. The ship's usual horn button can be used for normal signalling in conjunction with this unit.
